As the first drugstore chain to do so, Rite Aid has added a digital coupon program to its lineup of savings for 2012.
The program, which began on Jan. 1, allows shoppers to load digital coupons onto their Wellness cards through the store’s website. Each week, the company promises an average of $100 in new coupons. The savings will be automatically deducted from the purchase price after the shopper shows his Wellness card. Paper coupons will continue to be accepted.
Also new in 2012, when members reach 500 points, they will earn a wellness reward, such as a gym membership, health or fitness magazine subscription or a health screening. Rewards and redemption details will be printed on shopping receipts.
Also, through Jan. 28, shoppers who purchase $100 in eligible products will earn $20 in UP Rewards. Eligible items will be marked on stores shelves and in the store’s circular.
