The Bottom Dollar stores that are closing in Newport News, Portsmouth and Virginia Beach have discounted their stock by 50 percent.
A store representative at the Newport News store on Jefferson Avenue said produce, bread and dairy products would likely be out of stock at all stores, but dry goods and cleaning products were still available.
The store will accept manufacturer coupons.
Signs in the stores say the the stores will close by Feb. 15, though many have conjectured the closing date to come sooner.
