Framing services reopen at Williamsburg Pottery despite construction
While construction continues on the new Williamsburg Pottery complex, the custom order frame service has reopened inside one of the old pottery buildings.

“This is a true example of ‘back by popular demand,’” says Peter Kao, executive vice president of the pottery.

The Williamsburg Pottery closed to the public in November, as construction on a new 160,000-square-foot facility nears its March opening date. An official grand opening celebration is scheduled for April 5.

The made-to-order framing services will be available in the interim from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday inside the entry to the pottery’s solar building. Customers can access the framing operation through the Pottery’s entrance at the intersection of Lightfoot and Mooretown roads.

Planners say the new pottery will consist of three retail buildings and separate restaurant that span one-half mile along Richmond Road. The atmosphere and architecture of the facility is meant to invoke the feel of a traditional European marketplace.
